ANGÉLIQUE VERDEL and the Idea of starting - Fábrica da Luz.
I was born in the sixties in the Netherlands. I went to Berlin after finishing school and started to work as a singer. When the Berlin wall fell, I bought a one-way ticket to Rio de Janeiro and went to Brasil for one year. When I came back, I moved to Bavaria (Germany) and startet my career as an actress and singer. My first role was Nancy in the musical „Oliver“. I married and started my training as a Vocal and Breath Coach. I developed a passion for this topic and continued my education as a BIO-Energy Coach and a Psychotherapist (naturopath). I took the best out of everything I learned, and this resulted in my very own coaching method.
And now after more than 20 years of experience, I’m very happy to have found my own Fábrica da Luz Center. On the Azores. A dream has come true!
My idea of having a Retreat Center for people who want to spend more time with themselves for any reason, isn’t new. In the early years of 2000, I started to work as a Voice Coach, a Drama Teacher and a Breath Coach. I noticed that a lot of people had mental and physical problems, because they had forgotten their dreams. Each of them had lots of talents and beautiful gifts, but they never used them. There was always a good reason for having a „boring or badly paid“ job. I heard people saying to me: “Well, this is not a nice job and I feel very uncomfortable, but I need to earn money…”.
We seem to have forgotten that we are the creators of our own lives. Only you can change your life. Sooner or later people start to get frustrated. They want something else, but don’t know how and what. These people got lost in a „one-way road“ and don’t know how to proceed.
Everybody has its own way to relax, to reflect and to express him or herself. Therefore I want to offer a variety of ways to get in touch with yourself.
I personally love to create things, to do handicrafts. Completely free and intuitiv. When I look at the result, I have an idea of what it looks like inside me 😉. Other people need physical movement and still others need silence and contemplation.
In Fábrica da Luz everybody is allowed to find his or her own way.
We have music, instruments, handicrafts, paper, pencils, meditation cushions, space to dance and many more. We have courses for all kind of people.
